Nepal honored as Best Adventure Tourism Destination at IITM Pune

KATHMANDU: Nepal has been honored as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune.

The award was presented during the IITM Awards Night 2025, organized from November 27 to 29. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) representatives, Board Member Narendra Bhatta and Senior Officer Narayan Basyal, received the recognition on behalf of Nepal.

During the ‘Destination Presentation’ session at the event, NTB Senior Officer Robin Regmi showcased Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions, including the Buddha Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, cross-border eco-trails, UNESCO World Heritage sites, spiritual pilgrimage routes, world-class trekking, mountaineering opportunities, and a wide range of adventure sports.

Regmi said Nepal’s active participation at IITM Pune 2025 would further strengthen Nepal’s connection with the Indian tourism market and promote the country as an “all-season destination” offering a “lifetime experience.”

The Nepal Pavilion, set up in collaboration with 15 major travel trade companies, highlighted unique travel packages and key tourism products to Indian travel businesses and promoters. The three-day travel mart saw the participation of tourism representatives, travel entrepreneurs, and visitors from several countries.

NTB said its strong presence at IITM helped showcase Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, adventure destinations, and hospitality. NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi expressed confidence that such international platforms would significantly boost interest and demand for Nepal among Indian travelers, reinforcing Nepal’s position as a preferred tourism destination.
