KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has reported enthusiastic participation from citizens in the ongoing nationwide voter list collection campaign for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
According to Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, voter registration is progressing smoothly and with strong public engagement. The collection of voter names will continue until November 16.
The election of members to the House of Representatives is scheduled for March 5, 2026. Only individuals who turn 18 years of age by March 4, 2026 will be eligible to vote in the election.
The Commission has urged all Nepali citizens who have reached 18 years of age and obtained citizenship certificates by that date to ensure their names are registered in the voter list.
The Commission acknowledged that the high volume of registrations has put significant pressure on its voter list server, resulting in some temporary inconvenience for service seekers.
It further informed that, following the House of Representatives election, Nepali citizens aged 16 or above who have obtained a citizenship certificate will again be eligible to register their names in the electoral roll, as in previous years.
