NRB announces today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign exchange rates for Wednesday. According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 141.56 and the selling rate at Rs 142.16.

Similarly, the buying rate of one euro is Rs 162.86, while the selling rate stands at Rs 163.55. The UK pound sterling is being bought at Rs 185.06 and sold at Rs 185.85, while the Swiss franc is being bought at Rs 175.09 and sold at Rs 175.83.

For other major currencies, the buying and selling rates are as follows: Australian dollar at Rs 92.06 and Rs 92.45; Canadian dollar at Rs 100.60 and Rs 101.03; and Singapore dollar at Rs 108.45 and Rs 108.91 respectively.

Among Asian currencies, the buying rate of 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.22 and the selling rate is Rs 9.26, while 1 Chinese yuan is bought at Rs 19.87 and sold at Rs 19.95. The Saudi Arabian riyal stands at Rs 37.74 (buying) and Rs 37.90 (selling), and the Qatari riyal at Rs 38.84 and Rs 39.00.

Likewise, the Thai baht is being bought at Rs 4.35 and sold at Rs 4.37, the UAE dirham at Rs 38.54 and Rs 38.70, the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 33.72 and Rs 33.87, and 100 South Korean won at Rs 9.95 (buying) and Rs 9.89 (selling).

The Swedish krona stands at Rs 14.83 and Rs 14.89, while another listed currency, valued at Rs 21.81 (buying) and Rs 21.91 (selling), also saw minor adjustments.

The NRB has also fixed the buying and selling rates for several other currencies: the Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.21 and Rs 18.29, the Kuwaiti dinar at Rs 460.57 and Rs 462.52, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 375.47 and Rs 377.06, and the Omani rial at Rs 367.67 and Rs 369.23.

Meanwhile, the exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the exchange rates may be revised as required, and rates set by commercial banks may differ slightly. The latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
