Biplav’s party proposes name change to Communist Party of Nepal

KATHMANDU: Netra Bikram Chand Biplav’s faction has proposed to officially rename their political party to the “Communist Party of Nepal.”

Representatives from Biplav’s party, led by Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma, visited the Election Commission on Saturday to initiate the registration process for the party under the proposed name. Election Commission officials confirmed that the necessary procedures for party registration are currently underway.

This move comes as Biplav prepares to contest the upcoming federal parliamentary elections for the first time. His decision to register the party reflects his formal entry into the electoral process, as he seeks to gain a legitimate position within the political mainstream.

The Election Commission has set a deadline of November 16 for political parties to submit their registration certificates in time for the elections. Biplav’s party is working to complete the formalities within the stipulated timeline.
