GORKHA: The northern belt of Gorkha district has been blanketed by snowfall since last night, disrupting normal life and affecting tourism activities in the Manaslu region.

According to locals, heavy snowfall has been occurring in various parts of Chumnumbri Rural Municipality. “It started raining and snowing last night, and the snowfall is still continuing,” said Pasang Funjo Lama of Ward No. 7. “People are staying indoors, and even the yaks have been kept in sheds.”

Villages such as Nile, Chhule, Pangdun, Lar, Phurpe, Lamagaun, Burji, Jong, and Chhekam, situated above 3,000 meters, are now covered in snow. Likewise, Samagaun, Syala, and Lho have also been blanketed.
