Kathmandu District Administration Office to resume passport service from today

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has announced the resumption of passport application services starting today.

According to a public notice issued by the office, services will operate in two shifts—from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The online appointment system will open at 5:00 PM for those applying through limited application counters.

Due to a high volume of applicants and limited processing stations, the DAO has requested service seekers to arrive strictly at the time specified in their appointment confirmation.

Passport services had been disrupted following arson and vandalism at the DAO premises during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.

Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer Mukti Ram Rijal confirmed that services will now resume in two daily shifts.
