KATHMANDU: The Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), a sister organization of the Nepali Congress (NC), has filed a complaint against Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah and Hami Nepal founder Sudan Gurung.
The complaint alleges that during the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, students were mobilized in school and campus uniforms to act as human shields.
It further claims that national heritage sites, as well as government and private properties, were set on fire, with Mayor Balen and Sudan Gurung playing leading roles in the incidents.
According to the NSU, the complaint was submitted to the District Police Complex, Lalitpur, on Sunday. NSU representatives Manish Jung Thapa, Ashok Singh Bista, and Bijay Shah personally delivered the complaint to the police. However, the police have not yet registered the complaint.
Previously, the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), affiliated with the CPN-UML, had also filed a complaint against Mayor Balen and Sudan Gurung at the District Police Complex in Kathmandu.
