NC central working committee meeting to be held on Oct 14

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress central working committee meeting has been rescheduled to October 14.

Party spokesperson Dr. Prakashsharan Mahat said the meeting, originally scheduled for October 14, was postponed by two days due to insufficient preparations, following a leaders’ meeting at the party office in Sanepa on Saturday.

The central committee meeting was postponed after the three-day leaders’ meeting, including the performance review advisory committee, failed to reach a consensus on matters related to the party’s general convention.

Dr. Mahat said that before the central committee meeting, both formal and informal discussions would be held to form a shared view on the general convention agenda, which will then be presented to the committee. While there is consensus on the need to hold the convention as soon as possible, practical scheduling has yet to be finalized.

He added that the central working committee meeting will also set the date for the general convention and make necessary decisions regarding the current political situation. Dr. Mahat noted that the party has observed that the government has not worked seriously on election preparations.
