PM Karki expresses sorrow over loss caused due to monsoon-induced disasters



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of human lives and damage to property caused by monsoon-induced disasters in Ilam district and several other parts of the country.

In a message shared through her social media accounts on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Karki extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and expressed sympathy to all those affected by the disasters triggered by heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of security personnel, local authorities, and volunteers engaged in rescue and relief operations, acknowledging their dedication in responding to the crisis.

“The patience and unity shown by the Nepali people during this difficult time are commendable. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for their support and cooperation,” she stated.

According to the Prime Minister, relief distribution efforts are currently underway in the disaster-affected areas, with the government coordinating with local administrations to provide immediate assistance to victims.

Continuous rainfall since Friday has triggered floods and landslides across various regions, causing casualties and extensive damage to infrastructure and homes.
