Girl dies after being swept away by river in Udayapur



UDAYAPUR: A three-year-old girl has died after being swept away by the Ambika River in Triyuga Municipality-5, Damauti of Udayapur district.

According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the victim has been identified as Rebika Rai, daughter of Ujan Rai. She was playing near the river around 2 p.m. on Saturday when the incident occurred.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedarman Dong, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, said the child’s body has been handed over to her family after completion of the necessary procedures. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
