Woman with Interpol red corner notice arrested in UAE



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a woman wanted on an Interpol red notice in connection with a fraud case from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and brought her to Nepal.

The arrested individual has been identified as Aishwarya Dahal, a resident of Sindhuli Kamalamai Municipality-14 and Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-16, Dhanusha, according to Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Binod Ghimire.

“The woman had been absconding after Interpol issued a red notice against her in connection with a fraud case. Police arrested her in the UAE and brought her back to Nepal for legal proceedings,” DIG Ghimire said.

According to police, the Interpol General Secretariat issued the red notice at the request of NCB Kathmandu, aiming to locate and arrest her internationally for her alleged involvement in the fraud case.

The Interpol Branch of the Police Headquarters has stated that the arrested woman, Nij Dahal, has been sent to the District Police Office, Sunsari for further investigation and legal action.
