RASUWA: There has been a significant increase in the number of trucks and containers going towards Kerung for importing goods consumed in the Nepali market.

Rasuwa Police Chief, Bhagyendra Purush Dhakal informed that after the Dashain festival, around 70 to 80 trucks and containers have been heading towards Kerung in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China through the Rasuwagadhi transit point to bring the goods.

Meanwhile, the recurring problem of the road being blocked due to landslides has ended with the exit of monsoon.

The Rasuwagadhi transit point has come into full operation since December 2015.

Goods imported through this transit point include walnuts, apples, pears, slippers, shoes, textiles, thermos, chocolates, ready-made clothes, electric goods, children’s toys, and hydropower equipment, among others.

According to Rasuwa Customs Office Timure, over 60 trucks and containers return Nepal from Kerung through the transit point on a daily basis.
