President Bhandari to visit Japan on Oct 20

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is paying an official visit to Japan from 20 to 22 October 2019 to attend the Ceremony of the Enthronement of Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan, to be held on 22 October 2019.

The President will depart for Tokyo following the completion of the state visit to Myanmar at the friendly invitation of the Government of Japan.

President Bhandari will attend the Enthronement Ceremony on 22 October 2019, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

After the ceremony, the President will attend the Court Banquet to be hosted by His Majesty Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan.

During the visit, President Bhandari will hold meetings with the President of India Ram Nath Kovind and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

She will also attend the welcome reception hosted in her honor by the Ambassador of Nepal to Japan Prativa Rana and the welcome program to be organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Japan.

President Bhandari will be accompanied by Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, and other high ranking officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The President will return to Kathmandu on 23 October 2019, a MoFA statement said.
