KATHMANDU: Police on routine patrol have arrested 26 individuals from different parts of the country in connection with drug-related offenses.
According to the Central Police Newsroom, two people were arrested from Kaladhara in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–17 with 590 tablets of the controlled drug Tramadol. In another case from Nayabasti, Gokarneshwor Municipality–6, police detained two individuals with 21 ampoules of Diazepam, 20 ampoules of Phenergan, 21 ampoules of Buprenorphine, and Rs 20,000 in cash.
Similarly, two people were arrested from Jhota Bazaar in Bajhang, with brown heroin. In Surkhet, three individuals were held from Buspark in Birendranagar Municipality–10 with brown sugar, while in Salyan, one person was arrested from Kharibot in Bagchaur Municipality–2 with the same substance. In Morang’s Urlabari Municipality–7, two more suspects were arrested from Bargachhi with brown heroin, along with a digital weighing scale and Rs 12,710 in cash.
In another incident in Morang, police arrested three individuals from Sisauli Tole in Belbari Municipality–1 on Friday night with 200 tablets of Tramadol and 360 tablets of Diclomine. The arrested have been identified as Roman Rai (30), Bikal Rai (25), and Sudesh Rai (30). Police said the drugs were recovered during a search of Roman Rai’s house conducted by a team from the Area Police Office, Belbari.
In a separate crackdown on Saturday, police also seized 55 kg of marijuana and arrested several individuals from different locations, including Bargachhi in Urlabari–7 (Morang), Amhawa in Ramgram Municipality–16 (Nawalparasi West), Kamerotar in Madhyapur Thimi–5 (Bhaktapur), Thapuwa in Gulariya–8 (Bardiya), Chhepare in Athabiskot–14 (Rukum West), Chaubiskothi in Khairhani–8 (Chitwan), and Rampur in Ishworpur–8 (Sarlahi).
