Peace rally held to mark Constitution Day in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Constitution Day, a large peace rally was organized in Kathmandu on Friday morning.

The rally began at Maitighar and passed through Bhadrakali, Sahid Gate, Tripureshwor, and Thapathali before returning to Maitighar, where it concluded with a gathering.

The event was coordinated by the Professional Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) and saw the participation of constitutional experts, journalists, lawyers, human rights activists, teachers, intellectuals, and citizens from various professional backgrounds.

Participants in the rally carried placards with messages such as “Protect the Constitution,” “Ensure Good Governance,” and “Establish Peace.” They highlighted the need to safeguard the constitution promulgated on September 20, 2015 while also calling for timely amendments and reforms to address contemporary needs.

Meanwhile, the main Constitution Day ceremony is currently being held at Tundikhel with the presence of President Ram Chandra Paudel.
