376 children rescued in Surkhet this year



SURKHET: Around 376 children were rescued in the last one year.

The children who were in a vulnerable condition of domestic violence, enforced marriage, sexual harassment, and trafficking were rescued by Away, an NGO working in the rescue and rehabilitation of children.

Of the rescued children, 248 were girls while 128 were boys.

While 241 of them have been reunited with their families, 35 have been kept in the emergency rescue center, according to Pabitra Shahi, the program coordinator.
