Health Ministry orders free treatment for protest victims in federal hospitals

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has directed all federal hospitals to provide free treatment to those injured in Monday’s Gen-Z protests.

The circular, issued under the initiative of Health Minister Pradeep Paudel, instructs hospitals to ensure that no fees are charged for emergency treatment of injured citizens.

In addition, the ministry has called for ambulance services to be made more effective and readily available across the Kathmandu Valley. The Valley’s ambulance network has been asked to coordinate patient transfers between hospitals to ensure timely care.

The ministry has also appealed to all doctors and health workers to work together to save lives and provide immediate support to the injured.
