Prachanda pledges to help resolve issues of Hetauda Cement Industry

KATHMANDU: Maoist Centre Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged to take necessary initiatives to address the problems facing the Hetauda Cement Industry.

Receiving a memorandum from representatives of the joint trade union at the party’s headquarters in Parisdanda on Thursday, Chair Dahal said he would make every possible effort to help resolve the challenges confronting the state-owned enterprise.

Recalling that reviving struggling industries was a key agenda during his premiership, Dahal reaffirmed his commitment to advocate for the industry’s revival even from the position of opposition leader. He stressed the party’s continuous efforts toward restructuring and reforming government-owned industries and factories.

Chair Dahal also expressed solidarity with the working class, assuring the delegation that he stands firmly with actions taken in favor of workers and the national interest.

The memorandum submitted by the delegation urged the party to intervene in the mismanagement and neglect of the cement industry, to safeguard consumer interests, and to address the unmet demands of its employees.

Among the trade union delegation was CPN (Maoist Centre) Central Committee member and Makawanpur district in-charge, Bijay Gautam.
