Routes to be taken by President Xi to remain closed



KATHMANDU: President of China Xi Jinping is arriving in Kathmandu at 4:30 pm this afternoon.

Security has been tightened in the capital.

According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, the route from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to be traveled by President Xi will be closed to the common public.

The Division has urged people to use alternative routes on two days — Saturday and Sunday.

It said that the section of the road from the TIA to New Baneshwor, Thapthali, Teku, Kalimati and Tahachal will be closed for the people this afternoon.

President Xi will be staying at the Hotel Soaltee in Tahachal.
