KMC unveils Rs 25.76 billion budget for FY 2082/83



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced an estimated budget of Rs 25.76 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol presented the budget during a Municipal Assembly session held at the Rastriya Sabha Griha on Sunday. She said the budget includes Rs 650 millions allocated for external liabilities.

Of the total amount, the city expects to generate Rs 25.11 billion through its internal income and existing bank balance. Dangol added that Rs 20.12 billion is assured from internal sources alone.

Meanwhile, the federal government will provide Rs 4.98 billion through fiscal equalization and revenue sharing mechanisms.

Earlier on Sunday morning, the city’s executive committee approved the proposed budget for the new fiscal year.
