One woman dies in wild elephant attack in Banke



BANKE: A woman died after a wild elephant attack in Banke. Purnima Budha, 45, a resident of Baijnath-1, Chisapani, was killed in the incident, according to the District Police Office, Banke.

Budha and two other local women went into the forest near Bardiya National Park to cut grass. The elephant attacked them, resulting in Budha’s death on Friday.

The other two women managed to escape unharmed after the attack began. The body of the deceased has been taken to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for a postmortem examination.
