Woman goes missing in river

BAGLUNG : A woman has gone missing after accidentally falling into a river in western Baglung.

The missing is identified as Devi Shirpali, 32, from Lamlela of Tamankhola rural municipality-4 in the district and currently living in Kathmandu.

She fell into the Badigadh River while she was busy in taking a photograph by standing on a big rock near the river some 30 meters down from the under-construction Laxmikunda Ghat Bridge, according to eye witnesses.

She slipped off of the rock all of a sudden and fell into the river. At the time, she was accompanied by an Argentinean guest who, as she said, was going on tour to her hometown.

She was on the way to her home for the Dashain celebrations when the incident happened, according to the District Police Office, Baglung.

She is not found until the filing of this report. Police with the help of locals have been searching for her since the incident. Locals said they saw her being swept away by the river up to some 400 meters down from the incident site.
