Rain with thunder expected in several provinces



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently experiencing the combined influence of westerly and local winds, along with a partial effect of moisture-laden air entering from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Division, skies are generally cloudy over the hilly regions, while other parts of the country remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.

Thunderstorms and lightning have been reported at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the hilly areas, particularly in Koshi Province, and at isolated places in other regions.

There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall in some mountainous areas.

For tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see mainly clear to partly cloudy skies.

Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Similarly, light rain and snowfall are possible at one or two locations in the mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.
