Prachanda visits Gorkha to mark 10th anniversary of earthquake



GORKHA: Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has arrived in Gorkha to take part in a commemorative event marking the 10th anniversary of the 2015 earthquake that devastated Barpak and other parts of the country.

According to his secretariat, Chairman Prachanda will attend an earthquake memorial program scheduled for Friday in Barpak, the epicenter of the massive quake that struck Nepal in 2015.

Upon his arrival in Gorkha, Prachanda met with the families of martyrs and those still missing in the aftermath of the earthquake at Kundutar, Gorkha Municipality-12.

The memorial program aims to honor the thousands of lives lost and acknowledge the enduring struggles of survivors, while also reflecting on the country’s reconstruction efforts over the past decade.
