KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order directing the government not to deport four Bhutanese refugee youths, recently expelled from the United States, to Bhutan or any other country against their will.
On Chaitra 11, Ashok Gurung, Santosh Darjee, Roshan Tamang, and Ashish Subedi were deported from the U.S.
Initially, they arrived in Bhutan, but were forced to leave after a few days. They then entered Nepal via India through the Kakarbhitta border point and were arrested from a refugee camp in Jhapa.
All four had been registered as Bhutanese refugees in Nepal before being resettled in the United States.
