Summiteers’ summit at Thame on April 22



KATHMANDU: A summiteers’ summit will be held at Thame of Solukhumbu on April 22.

The event being organized by an organization, Sathsathai, will be attended by mountain climbers, climate and tourism experts and three-tiers of government.

Chairperson of Sathsatahi, Prajita Karki, informed that the organizations and government alike were encouraged to hold the event. The event focused on climate change and tourism is related to the Sagarmatha Sambad, an international conference being held by the government.

The Sagarmatha Sambad secretariat has allowed the conduct of the event with the coordination of province and local governments, according to her. Noted climbers including Qatari crown princess Asma Al Thani, Kamarita Sherma, Mingma David Sherpa and Maya Gurung will attend the programme.

Even those surviving the glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) of Thame will participate in the summit.
