Westerly winds impacting weather across Nepal



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, along with moisture-laden air entering from the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, the country is experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning has been recorded in some areas of Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly regions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas, as well as the possibility of light rain and snowfall in isolated high-hill and mountainous regions.

For tonight, the weather in the hilly areas will remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is expected to have mainly clear to partly cloudy conditions.

Light rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in a few locations across the hilly regions of Gandaki and Koshi provinces.
