Moisture-laden air from Arabian Sea influencing Nepal’s weather conditions



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds.

Additionally, moisture-laden air from the Arabian Sea is influencing weather conditions across Nepal.According to the Division, skies are generally to fully overcast nationwide.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring in parts of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Isolated showers have also been reported in other regions of the country.

This afternoon, light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in the hilly regions, particularly in Bagmati, Gandaki, and a few other areas across the country.

For tonight, there is a forecast of heavy rainfall in isolated locations of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces.

Light rain and snowfall are also possible in some parts of the high hills and mountainous regions.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the potential impacts of thunder, lightning, rain, and snowfall, which could disrupt daily life, health, agriculture, and both road and air transportation.
