KATHMANDU: Charge d’ Affaires at Embassy of Nepal in South Africa, Ghana Shyam Lamsal, viewed the constitution of Nepal is not only a historic achievement of Nepali people but also a highly progressive law of the land that has set unprecedented parallels by global standards in guaranteeing the rights of the people, particularly for the disadvantaged sections of society including women, Dalits and poor.

Lamsal said this at a special program organized on the National Day by Nepali Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa on Friday, according to a press statement issued by the Embassy.

The Charge d’ Affaires further said Nepal now has poised for accelerated economic development for which, the government had already launched a massive development effort under a vision of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. Informing about the celebration of 2020 as ‘Visit Nepal Year’, he invited all to visit Nepal to enjoy rich cultural, natural and adventurous tourism.

Attending the event as the Chief Guest, Acting Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, David Malcomson, conveyed the congratulatory message of the government of South Africa to Nepal government and Nepalis on the occasion of the National Day.

At the event, a promotional documentary of Nepal was screened.
