Captured tiger to be released in Shuklaphanta National Park

BELAURI: A male tiger captured from Tedhuwa village in Belauri Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, will soon be released into the core area of Shuklaphanta National Park, authorities confirmed.

The fully grown tiger was found in a wheat field on Sunday. A team of forest technicians, assisted by two elephants and a drone camera, safely tranquilized the animal before transferring it to the Division Forest Office in Kanchanpur.

According to Ram Bichari Thakur, Chief of the District Forest Office, the tiger is in good health and has no injuries. “It will be released in a safe area of the national park,” he said.

Shuklaphanta National Park, known for its rich biodiversity, provides a suitable habitat for tigers. Officials believe returning the big cat to the park will ensure both its safety and the safety of nearby communities.
