Socialist Front leaders inspect fire-damaged Unified Socialist party office

KATHMANDU: Senior leaders of the Socialist Front visited the office of the Unified Socialist after it was set on fire by a group of supporters of the former king during Friday’s violence in Tinkune.

Among the visiting leaders was Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who, along with other Front leaders, inspected the damage at the party office chaired by Madhav Kumar Nepal.

According to Dahal’s personal secretariat, the protesters, who were demanding the restoration of the monarchy, vandalized and torched the office, escalating tensions in the capital.

The Socialist Front leaders strongly condemned the attack and urged authorities to take action against those responsible.
