KATHMANDU: Former Australian cricketer Stuart Law, has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national cricket team.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the decision on Friday, confirming that Law will lead the team for the next two years.

According to CAN, the selection process was highly competitive, with 70 applicants from across the world vying for the role. After a thorough evaluation, the top 10 candidates were shortlisted, and Law was ultimately chosen following an interview process.

This appointment comes after the departure of Monty Desai, who previously served as Nepal’s head coach. Some candidates from the previous tenure had also reapplied for the position, but CAN opted for Stuart Law, bringing in his international experience and coaching expertise to guide Nepal’s cricketing future.

Law’s arrival is expected to bring strategic improvements to the team as Nepal continues to build momentum in international cricket.
