Police seize Durga Prasai’s vehicle

KATHMANDU: The police have seized the vehicle used by Durga Prasai, the ‘commander’ of the Joint People’s Movement Committee, amid escalating tensions during the royalist demonstration in Tinkune.

The vehicle, bearing the registration number Bagmati 027 Cha 3647, was taken into police custody after Prasai used it to breach the restricted area designated by the local administration.

Before the police intervened, the vehicle had already been vandalized. However, the identity of those responsible for the damage remains unknown.

The protest, which turned violent after demonstrators attempted to march towards New Baneshwor, has seen intense clashes between royalist supporters and security forces, with police using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.
