ITAHARI: A massive fire has broken out in a 10-storey commercial building in Itahari Bazaar, causing panic among locals and trapping several people inside. The building, Center Plaza, caught fire suddenly, and rescue efforts are underway to evacuate those inside.

According to police, the fire started in the middle floors, making rescue operations from the upper floors particularly challenging. Those trapped are being rescued with ropes, while emergency teams are battling to contain the flames.

At approximately 9:30 am, a gas cylinder exploded on the fifth floor, intensifying the fire. Witnesses reported loud blasts and thick smoke billowing from the building.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that a Nepal Army helicopter has been dispatched to the scene to assist in the evacuation and prevent further casualties or property damage.
