KATHMANDU: Ram Chandra Paudel expressed his belief that the festival of Phagu Purnima (Holi) will further strengthen social harmony and national unity.

In his message of best wishes on the occasion of Holi, he hoped the festival would inspire efforts to eradicate various societal distortions, anomalies, and harmful practices, while also preserving and promoting Nepali culture.

President Paudel emphasized that the festival would support Nepal’s ethnically, linguistically, and culturally diverse society in maintaining unity amidst diversity.

“Unity in diversity is both the identity and beauty of Nepalis. I am confident that this festival will contribute to strengthening social harmony and national unity by renouncing anger and hatred, while cultivating love and closeness among all Nepalis,” his message stated.

Acknowledging the country’s diverse ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds, President Paudel likened the colorful celebrations of Holi to the vibrant diversity of Nepal.

He expressed heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepali brothers and sisters, both at home and abroad, on this special festival.

The Holi festival, which begins with the creation of a rag adorned with colorful clothes, culminates with the burning of the rag on the night of the full moon.

As a celebration of colors, Holi promotes a message of mutual harmony and goodwill.

It is joyously celebrated throughout the country, symbolizing the triumph of truth over falsehood, justice over injustice, virtue over evil, and righteousness over unrighteousness.
