NEPSE falls by 20.68 points, trading volume also down



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant drop on Monday, the second trading day of the week, falling by 20.68 points to settle at 2,751.42 points.

The decline in NEPSE was accompanied by a decrease in trading volume.

A total of 150,094,915 shares worth Rs 8.37 billion were traded throughout the day. Despite the downturn, shares of 311 companies were traded 87,156 times.

Among the traded companies, the share prices of 44 companies increased, while 191 companies saw their share prices decrease. The share prices of eight companies remained unchanged.

Out of the 13 trading groups, all groups except the “Other” group closed in negative territory. The “Other” group recorded a slight gain of 0.08 percent. Among the losing groups, the mutual fund group suffered the most, dropping by 3.06 percent, while the commercial bank group recorded the smallest decline of 0.44 percent.
