KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress central member Min Bahadur Bishwakarma stated that the ordinances introduced by the government are unlikely to pass in the current political climate.
Speaking at an even in Butwal on Monday, Bishwakarma explained that although the government had held discussions with the Nepali Congress about the ordinances, they were not approved due to dissatisfaction among the parties when the matter was presented in parliament.
Bishwakarma also expressed confidence that the current ruling alliance will remain intact until the 2027 elections.
He emphasized that the Nepali Congress party has become more dynamic in recent times, with 55 departments formed and continuous programs being held in all 77 districts.
When asked about the Nepali Congress general convention, Bishwakarma assured that the event will take place on time and dismissed any concerns about internal divisions within the party.
In response to a journalist’s question about US President Donald Trump’s decision to halt foreign aid, including USAID, Bishwakarma described it as a temporary whim and downplayed its long-term impact.
