Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav leaves for India

KATHMANDU: Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has left for an official visit to India to participate in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene sectors.

According to Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Water Supply, Meena Shrestha, Minister Yadav departed for New Delhi at 2 pm on Saturday.

The MoU signing ceremony is scheduled for Monday, March 3, where Yadav will sign the agreement on behalf of the Government of Nepal, while India’s Minister for Water Supply, CR Patil, will represent the Government of India.

The agreement will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in drinking water resources, improving access to clean water, promoting sanitation, and enhancing waste management efforts.

It will also cover groundwater management, rainwater collection and measurement, technology sharing, and technical and training support for Nepal.

The initiative aims to strengthen mutual collaboration between Nepal and India in addressing water and sanitation challenges, ensuring better infrastructure, and adopting modern technologies to improve water supply management.
