Democracy Day observed across Nepal today

KATHMANDU: The 75th National Democracy Day is being celebrated today with various programs organized across the country.

The day marks the historic event of 7th Falgun, 2007 BS, when democracy was established in Nepal following the end of the 104-year-old autocratic Rana rule.

A special ceremony is taking place at Tundikhel in the federal capital, Kathmandu, to commemorate this significant day.

Since 2008 BS, the main ceremony committee has organized a special event at Sainik Manch every year.

The government has called for a three-day special celebration, which will take place on February 19, 20, and 21.

Additionally, illumination events will be held in the evenings to mark the occasion.
