BP Highway repairs underway following flood damage

KATHMANDU: The Department of Roads has begun repairing flood-damaged sections of the BP Highway from Bhakundebesi to Nepalthok.

According to the department, work is in progress on a heavily affected 13-kilometer stretch, with 8.5 kilometers already rebuilt. Repairs are underway at 14 damaged locations, said Suman Yogesh, Chief of the Road Division Office in Bhaktapur.

“We are prioritizing the BP Highway to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow. If necessary, work will continue at night,” Yogesh said.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal inspected the highway last Saturday, assuring that resource shortages would not hinder reconstruction efforts.
