Chitra Bahadur KC seeks update on Bipin Joshi

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha Chair Chitra Bahadur KC has urged the government to inform the parliament about its efforts to secure the release of Bipin Joshi, a student from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, who was reportedly captured by Hamas in Israel.

Speaking during zero hour in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, KC questioned why the government had not provided updates on Joshi’s status, despite previous hostage releases following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

“A ceasefire was reached, and many hostages from different countries were freed, but Bipin Joshi remains missing. What is the government doing? What efforts have been made for his release? The parliament must be informed,” KC said.

He said acknowledging the situation was not enough and demanded transparency regarding diplomatic efforts and negotiations related to Joshi’s whereabouts.

The Nepal government has yet to issue an official statement in response to KC’s concerns.
