Political instability has adversely affected country’s economy: PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has acknowledged that while development work was stalled due to political instability, progress has now gained momentum.

In his address at the inauguration of the Nepal Chamber Expo, PM Oli stated that political instability has had a negative impact on the country’s economy, industry, business, trade, production, and exports across all sectors.

He said, “The IT sector is no longer just a topic of discussion but has become an integral and essential part of our business and daily life. Nepal is moving forward and striving to progress even faster.”

“Everyone knows that the political instability we’ve experienced has had a detrimental effect on the economy, industry, business, trade, production, and exports in every regard,” he stated.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the IT sector is now a vital aspect of daily life.

Looking ahead, he announced plans to restore the economy and society to a state of balance from the negative impacts of past instability.

His goal is to make the country dynamic and transition from a least-developed country to a middle-income nation by 2026.
