NA members emphasise on development of park area as ‘natural industry’



KATHMANDU: National Assembly lawmakers have emphasized on the need to develop the park areas as a ‘natural industry’.

In today’s meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee in the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, the parliamentarians expressed the view that helipad construction, flight and landing within the park area should be made more systematic.

Gomadevi Timalsina said that while the government is advancing work in the field of infrastructure development, it will protect the natural resources.

She said that tourism should be promoted by developing the national park areas as natural industries.

Shri Krishna Prasad Adhikari said that the government should protect Chitwan National Park and Parsa National Park, and formulate and implement a plan for their conservation, publicity and tourism promotion.

Nara Bahadur Bista emphasized on the need to manage more issues such as hotel and other business operations in parks and intermediate areas and tourism promotion.

Yuvraj Sharma stressed the consumption, sales distribution of river substances.

Renu Chand held the view that the relevant province and local levels should discuss with the representative of the park office in the area regarding the formulation of laws related to forest and environment.
