RPP to strengthen people’s movement against govt

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced its commitment to intensify the people’s struggle against the government.

At the ongoing Central Working Committee meeting in Kathmandu, Chair Rajendra Lingden highlighted that the party would reinforce its movement by articulating specific demands.

He stated that the meeting, which began on Friday, would focus on shaping the party’s strategy, reviewing the government’s performance, and addressing its future role as an opposition party.

Lingden criticized the government, led by major parties such as the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, for failing to instill hope among the people.

“The country is facing economic decline, and public disappointment is growing,” he said.

He also expressed concern about the government’s reliance on ordinances to govern, bypassing parliamentary procedures, which he described as detrimental to democracy.

In addition to discussing the national political landscape, the meeting will evaluate the progress of the party’s district conventions and provide necessary guidance to expedite them.

The two-day meeting is expected to conclude on Saturday, with resolutions on these key issues.
