Advocate Dinesh Tripathi assault case: Woman from Jhapa arrested



KATHMANDU: A woman from Jhapa has been arrested in connection with the assault on senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, which occurred on January 15, 2025, outside the Kathmandu District Court in Babarmahal.

The police apprehended 55-year-old Sheetal Rai, also known as Sita Devi Rai, who hails from Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-4, Jhapa, and currently resides in Shantinagar, Kathmandu.

She was taken into custody during an ongoing search for those involved in the incident. Rai is currently being held at the Singha Durbar Police Circle for further investigation, according to the Kathmandu District Police Office.

This follows earlier arrests of Lalit Kumar KC, a resident of Tathali, Mahalaxmi Municipality-5, Lalitpur, originally from Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-1, Dolakha, and Mahananda Jaisi, a resident of Suryadarshan Heights, Kathmandu, originally from Adanchuli Rural Municipality-4, Humla.

The police continue to search for additional suspects involved in the assault.
