KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced power cuts in several areas of Kathmandu today for line maintenance and expansion.

The NEA issued a notice stating that the power disruption is necessary to connect the overhead line to the transformer tower at Pushpalal Park through an underground cable line in the Teku Bishnumati Corridor, part of the Chhetrapati feeder.

According to the notice, power will be cut in the following areas from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday: Chhetrapati Chowk, Paknajol, Thaiti Chowk, Jyatha, and other nearby locations.

Additionally, under the Teku Thapathali feeder, power will be interrupted from Thapathali Chowk to Nepal Eye Hospital, Passport Department, World Trade Center, Dasharath Stadium, and Blue Cross Hospital in Tripureswor.

Power will also be cut along the Tripureshwor feeder, affecting areas from Teku Sub Station to Pachali Bhairav, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Teku Chowk, Tripureshwor Chowk, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Teku Banshi Marg, and the road leading to Sukumbasi Tole.

In the Thapathali feeder, power will be cut from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in areas including the Maternity Ward east gate, Norvic Hospital, Thapathali Panchayani Marg, Kuriya Village, and behind the Inland Revenue Office.

The NEA has stated that if the work is completed before the scheduled time, power will be restored earlier than the stated deadline.
