Fog likely to disrupt daily life and transportation



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that westerly winds are currently having a general effect on the country.

According to the Division, the weather is partly to generally cloudy in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and partly cloudy in the remaining hilly and mountainous areas, while other regions are mainly clear.

Haze and fog have been reported in some areas of the Tarai.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions.

The rest of the areas will be partly cloudy to mainly clear. Light rain is possible in one or two places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim province, along with light snowfall in some high hilly and mountainous areas across the country.

Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Light rain is likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and light snowfall is expected at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as mist and fog are expected to affect many areas of the Tarai and Kathmandu Valley in the morning, potentially impacting daily life, health, transportation, and air travel.
