Westerly winds affecting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that westerly winds are currently affecting the country.

According to the Division, the weather is partly to generally cloudy in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

Mist and fog are reported in many areas of the Tarai and valleys.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be mainly clear in the Himalayan, hilly, and Tarai regions across the country.

Tonight, there is a chance of partly cloudy weather in the mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in the hilly areas of Lumbini province, with scattered light rain possible.

The weather is expected to remain clear in the hilly and Tarai regions.

The Division has advised taking necessary precautions, as mist and fog are expected in many places in the Tarai and valleys during the morning, which could affect daily life, health, transportation, and air travel.
