KATHMANDU: Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said secularism and federal democratic republic have been currently under attack from different quarters in the pretext of dissatisfaction, religion or other issues.

He suggested the political leaders and representatives perform according to the peoples’ aspirations to thwart any attacks from what he said ‘regressive moves’.

“If we fail to act, regressive elements would try to come back,” he warned at a program in the capital today.

Dahal said those elements who have been displaced from power are gradually raising their heads. “Therefore, it is high time that all political forces stood together against any such threats,” Dahal said, adding, “If we fail to do so, it would be costly for all of us.”
