Sita Air lands safely despite engine failure

KATHMANDU: An aircraft of Sita Air has succeeded to make a safe landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu today even as one of its engines failed to function.

An engine of the aircraft (9N-AJH), with no passenger, only crew members on board, which took off from the Lukla Airport to Kathmandu had failed while flying in the air.

General Manager of TIA, Raj Kumar Chetri informed that the aircraft made an emergency landing at the airport.

TIA allows all aircraft to fly only after undergoing a thorough technical investigation of the engine with the coordination of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, he said.

Sita Air has been providing services to the remote areas of Nepal, including Lukla.
